Ecuador: Light of Time - Imago Mundi
Contemporary Artists from Ecuador
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection
Texts by Luciano Benetton, Andrea de Carvalho, Hernán Pacurucu Cardenas, Raúl Felipe Peñalver
This unique collection encapsulates and represents contemporary Ecuadorian art. Modernity viewed through the light of time, with artistic practices that vary in their themes and techniques but are united by a common energy: wide-ranging, dynamic and free. The smallest Andean state - a concentration of extraordinary cultures and traditions, biodiversity and different microclimates - is reflected in the works of the 140 artists involved in this new leg of Imago Mundi’s artistic journey and brings to light a varied, multifaceted, articulated image that aspires to commitment and moral revolution.
Ecuador: Light of Time. Contemporary Artists from Ecuador is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
