Creative Density - Imago Mundi
Contemporary Art of the Golden Bengal
Imago Mundi - Luciano Benetton Collection
Texts by Luciano Benetton, Aman Mojadidi, Diana Campbell Betancourt
An extraordinary story of Bangladesh in images: 224 works that bear witness to the vitality and rich cultural heritage, to the hypertension verging on frenzy and the dramatic but continuous efforts to achieve reconciliation among the different ethnic and religious groups of the eighth most populous country in the world. With solid roots in the ethnos of the Bay of Bengal, the artists of Bangladesh, established names and emerging talents, women and men, the young and not so young, engage with the chaotic and creative complexity of their country and, simultaneously, with the exploration of international contemporary art. Together, they weave a great fabric, entwined with strands of religious faith and secular aspirations for the future, the struggle for freedom and aesthetic truth.
Creative Density: Contemporary Art of the Golden Bengal is an Imago Mundi collection, a cultural, democratic, global, non-profit project, promoted by Luciano Benetton with the aim of creating the widest possible mapping of the different contemporary artistic experiences of our world. In Imago Mundi, each country is represented by the works of established artists and new talents, commissioned with the maximum freedom of expression, whose only constraint is the 10x12 cm format.
